Thursday 6:30pm-8pm Dances of Africa Community Dance Individual Class
Thursdays 6:30pm - 8pm 22 October - 17 December 2020
Newtown Community & Cultural Centre
Corner of Rintoul & Colombo Streets
Shake, shimmy and groove to the soulful rhythms of Africa, led by Moringa Dance director Jenny Bloomfield and accompanied with live drumming by Simon Elwell of Djembe NZ & the Kubatana crew. You will be guided through a warm up, learn some choreography, then put it together with the music for a fun, high energy experience, followed by a relaxing stretch! During term 4, we will also engage with some concepts from Dance Movement Therapy which Jenny is currently studying through DTNZ.
We have a special treat on Thursday, 5 November, with Koffie Fugah, our favourite Ghanaian West African dance tutor joining us for a special community dance workshop!! If you have paid for the term, this workshop is included in your term fees!
We are back in person!!! We are inexpressibly happy to see you and dance with you!!!
Please do not book for class or attend class if you are at all unwell!
There are a number of safety and hygiene considerations we are committed to as part of re-opening to enable contact tracing and cleanliness, so if we are in COVID alert levels higher than level 1, after booking, usually on the day of class, you will receive an email with details about how it is all going to work. Please read carefully and comply for our collective well-being and safety :).
Any questions/concerns or need for additional assistance, please contact: email@example.com 0276996918.
