Tuesday 8:30pm-9:30pm Dances of Africa Intermediate Dance Individual Class
Tuesdays 8:30pm - 9:30pm
27 July - 28 September
Cook Islands Society Hall
220 Hanson St, Newtown
When you reach the carpark by the reserve, drive in and veer left, the building is up at the top of the driveway on the right hand side of the Pipe Hall (you will see a mural of the pipers). There is parking up top, first come first served.*
Shake, shimmy and groove to the soulful rhythms of Africa, led by Moringa Dance director Jenny Bloomfield, and accompanied with live drumming by Simon Elwell of Djembe NZ. You will be guided through a warm up, learn some choreography, then put it together with the music for a fun, high energy experience. This class will have a faster pace of learning and dancing and more focus on technique than Thursday night community dance. Everyone is welcome who is happy to dive into that experience :).
*Some classes will include dun dun dance choreographies where we drum and dance at the same time :).*
Please do not book for class or attend class if you are at all unwell!
There are a number of safety and hygiene considerations we are committed to as part of re-opening to enable contact tracing and cleanliness, so if we are in COVID alert levels higher than level 1, after booking, usually on the day of class, you will receive an email with details about how it is all going to work. Please read carefully and comply for our collective well-being and safety :).
Any questions/concerns please contact: email@example.com 0276996918.
If finances are tight, we are open to accept an affordable koha for you, email Jenny to discuss.
